13 - The Kabah - A Tour - Voice Only
This video is a tour of the Kabah, highlighting the various parts of the Kabah and how they relate to each other. After watching this you should gain a good understanding of how the Kabah is arranged.

Next, we come to the Kabah door, which you can actually see underneath the curtain with the Arabic inscriptions (Kiswah). This inscription is made up of verses of the Quran. The door is made of gold, and underneath the door you can see the brickwork of the Kabah. (The Kabah, is a actually a hollow structure made of up large bricks. The black and gold cover that you see is actually a covering which is known as the Kiswah).
As you walk around the Kabah, you see a semicircular section which is blocked off. This section indicates the extent of the original foundations of the Kabah. Therefore when walking around the Kabah it is important to walk on the outside of this section.
At this point you may notice a rectangular object at the top of the Kabah. This is a water spout for the roof....in the case of rain.
Finally, we come round to the 4th corner of the Kabah, which is known as the Yemeni corner. This corner is touched when walking around the Kabah during Tawaaf. (Again, like with the black stone, if there are too many people there, then it is sufficient to point towards it.)
As you walk around the Kabah for Tawaaf, it is important to remember and pray to God, silently, or quietly. It doesn’t matter what you know, as long it’s from your heart.

This video will allow you to get a sense of where these things are in relation to each other, and in relation to the Kabah.
The act of Tawaaf, is what you typically see on video footage of the Kabah, with thousands of people walking anti-clockwise around the Kabah.
Tawaaf starts at the black stone which you kiss, or touch, or just point towards depending on how busy it is and how easy it is to do any of these. In reality, there are always so many people there that it’s sufficient to stand on the black line (indicating the position of the black stone), and point towards it.
